Abantubalamu Kkoyi by Semwanga Kivumbi

Abantubalamu Kkoyi! (often stylized with exclamation marks) is a well-known Luganda novel written by Ssemwanga Kivumbi Bantubalamu and first published in 2002. It is widely studied in Ugandan secondary schools as part of the UNEB (Uganda National Examinations Board) Luganda literature syllabus. The title "Abantubalamu Kkoyi!" roughly translates to an expression of shock or dismay at the behavior of people who are supposedly sane or upright ("abantubalamu"). The book is a social commentary and satirical critique of human nature, greed, hypocrisy, and the breakdown of moral and cultural values in contemporary African society, specifically within the Buganda context.
